Prophylaxis Days 13.0 -TADS- Opening Ceremony

Event

The opening ceremony of Prophylaxis Days 13.0 was a truly special event, featuring a Ramadan-inspired theme that created a unique and warm atmosphere for students during the holy month.

The ceremony began with a speech from Manel Ghidhaoui the president of TADS, followed by a speech from Arij Groun, the president of Prophylaxis Days 13.0. Each organizing team member then took the stage to introduce their roles, including the treasurer, VPE, secretary, media manager, logistics manager, Kairouan day manager, Sfax day manager, public location manager in Sousse, accommodation manager, and activities manager.

One of the highlights of the ceremony was an educational simulation led by our esteemed professors, Dr. Chatti Marwa (Assistant in Pedodontics) and Dr. Hamzaoui Cyrine (Resident in Pedodontics). They presented realistic cases that we might encounter during our future visits to primary schools, demonstrating how to handle children, give them oral hygiene advice, and emphasize the importance of oral health for mental well-being, especially in children during their developmental stages. This was followed by a practical demonstration on how to examine the oral cavity (both intraoral and extraoral examinations)—a highly enriching session for dental students.

The next part of the ceremony was led by Madame Nourhen Nasr, a psychologist, who provided valuable insights on child psychology. She explained how to effectively communicate with children, ensure a smooth transfer of information, and manage situations where a child refuses to cooperate or experiences fear or distress. This session was particularly useful in preparing us for our school visits, helping us create a dynamic and interactive learning environment for students.

To further enhance the ambiance, we enjoyed a musical interlude performed by OutArt Band Tunisia88_LFBM, one of the best bands in Monastir. They played traditional Tunisian music, bringing a Ramadan spirit to the event and fully engaging all the students in the celebration.

After the musical break, we resumed with even more energy for a fun-filled laughter session, featuring a reunion of past Prophylaxis Days presidents from editions 13.0, 12.0, 11.0, and 10.0. They shared their most memorable moments, from funny stories and unexpected challenges to crisis management experiences and the friendships they built throughout their journeys.

Following this, we unveiled details about our excursion and closing trip—a three-day adventure where we not only explore new places in Tunisia but also stay committed to our mission by visiting schools in our travel destinations. During this session, we revealed the destination and itinerary for this year’s trip, sparking excitement among the students.

The final part of the ceremony featured a presentation by the activities manager, who introduced the games and interactive activities prepared for the children, tailored to different educational levels. Lastly, our VPE concluded the ceremony by presenting the event sponsors, acknowledging their crucial support in making Prophylaxis Days 13.0 a success.
