We collaborated with IEEE(Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) to celebrate Women's Day by organizing an online meeting where we discussed the most important diseases affecting oral health and how to prevent them. This meeting was highly enriching for both the participants from the Faculty of Dental Medicine and the students from the International Institute of Technology. It was a dynamic and interactive session, lasting over an hour, and was led by dental medicine students, who shared their expertise and insights on maintaining good oral health.
Our meeting began with a brief presentation on the anatomy of the teeth and the oral cavity to set the context for the students. We then moved on to discussing the most common oral diseases, analyzing how they develop, how they are treated, and, most importantly, how to prevent them. Additionally, we included a segment on nutrition, highlighting its crucial role in oral health. In this part, we discussed the nutrients to avoid as well as the essential nutrients needed to maintain a healthy oral cavity. Plus , we dedicated a whole part where we explained how our oral health impact our mental health a topic where we were surprised that most students didn't pay attention at it by that we assured students will pay more attention at their oral health
last but not least we presented to them our event Prophylaxis Days and how we manage to make this event the biggest event for oral health in Tunisia
