On account of World Oral Health day celebrations NOHP Puducherry organized Pit and Fissure sealant program at 5 urban and rural government schools in Puducherry during the months of January and February 2025.The details of the schools are as below:
1. 6th January 2025 - GHSS Nonakuppam - 29 molars sealed
2. 9th January 2025 - GPS Karuvadikuppam- 24 molars sealed .
3. 21st January 2025 -GHS kanuvapet- 29 molars sealed
4. 24th January 2025- MGHSS Embalam- 27molars sealed
5. 20th February 2025- VGGHSS Lawspet -37 molars sealed.
Pit and fissure sealant programs are a proven, effective way to prevent dental caries among school-aged children. By integrating these programs into school health initiatives, communities can ensure that every child has the opportunity for a healthy smile and better overall health. This preventive approach not only reduces dental disease but also supports academic success, as healthy children are better learners.
By the end of five days school Pit and Fissure Sealant Program 146 molars were sealed successfully.
