On January 3rd and 4th 2025, National oral health program Puducherry organised the oral health educators training program for Government/ Private Primary school teachers at PSHM conference Hall Puducherry.
Two days training program focused on training teachers on various topics like basic dentistry, common Dental problems, oral habits & its effects and also about handling an emergency dental trauma situation in school premises.
The training program also had other engaging group activities for the teachers.Proper brushing techniques for both adults and school going children was also demonstrated using Dental models .
The Two days training program was headed by Dr. Kavipriya , State Nodal Officer - National Oral Health Programme (NOHP) Puducherry, along with mobile dental unit team & Dental Surgeon from PHC Kalapet. Certificates were also distributed for all the 150 participants.
Investing in teacher training creates a ripple effect, leading to better oral health outcomes for future generations and reducing the overall burden of dental diseases in the community. A well-informed teacher today means a healthier tomorrow for our children.
