In India, the Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry took the streets to promote oral health awareness through an energetic walk. Armed with oral health education and hygiene materials, the group traveled through the streets of Namburu, reaching out to the general public to spread the message.
United for World Oral Health Day
To celebrate this year’s World Oral Health Day campaign, “Be Proud of Your Mouth,” the Department of Public health dentistry from Sibar Institute of Dental Sciences organized an oral health awareness walk on 14 March, to sensitize the general public about the importance of oral health care. The dental community, including staff, postgraduates, interns, and final years united to cover routes in Namburu (rural) holding banners and placards with slogans written on them.
Oral disease prevention resources
During the rally, students distributed flyers that emphasized the prevention of oral diseases and maintaining good oral care. Students interacted with local community members regarding their reasons for neglecting oral health conditions and utilization of dental services. It was a successful event that helped raise awareness to achieve optimal oral health for the community.
