Rationale
Oral health needs across communities vary significantly with age, lifestyle, and access to healthcare services. Urban populations, particularly in densely populated areas, often face challenges related to awareness, preventive practices, and timely access to care. The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Government Dental College and Hospital, Mumbai, conducted a Community Oral Health Education and Screening Camp on 04 April 2026 at Dongri, Mumbai. Aligned with the global theme “A Happy Mouth is a Happy Life”, the initiative aimed to address oral health needs across a diverse age group through education and early detection.
Objectives
- To promote oral health awareness across different age groups
- To encourage preventive oral hygiene practices
- To facilitate early detection of oral diseases
- To improve health-seeking behaviour within the community

Conclusion
The Community Oral Health Awareness and Screening Camp at Dongri successfully highlighted the importance of accessible, inclusive, and preventive oral healthcare services.
