World Oral Health Day events took place throughout the Czech Republic from 20 March to 30 April 2025. The main goal of the events was to reach the general public and raise awareness of the importance of proper oral care and its impact on overall health. Visitors of all ages had the opportunity to learn the correct brushing techniques and receive expert advice on dental hygiene. Some programs allowed participants to have the condition of their teeth and gums assessed. The program was designed to be attractive and beneficial for both children and adults. 

As part of World Oral Health Day 2025, the Czech Dental Chamber, in cooperation with organisations, partners and volunteers, managed to reach and treat more than 11 915 people and many pupils from 829 schools.

Josefa v Žirči, Ostrava - hala Gong, školní družina v Horní Moštěnici, ordinace dentální hygieny v Přerově, MS Dráček v Lysé and Labem, Pekárek Dental Chodov, školka na Malé Skále, Dentální Hygiena 100pro s.r.o., Pearl dent Kláry Marešové, Brno, Olomouc, Hradec Králové and many more.

World Oral Health Day in numbers

  • The 3rd Faculty of Medicine of Charles University organized an awareness-raising program for children and adults in various places in the Czech Republic as part of the World Oral Health Day. 50 students and 10 lecturers participated. Participants were given a lecture, educational leaflets, and had the opportunity to try out practical dental hygiene training and learned a lot of useful information about preventing tooth decay, gingivitis and a healthy lifestyle that leads to oral health.

  • SVOŠ medical school for DH prepared a program for patients in various dental offices. The standard treatment was followed by a short individual lecture on proper oral care. Patients also received printed educational materials.

  • On the occasion of the SDUZ (World Oral Health Day), the Czech Dental Chamber, together with the Republika bez kazu initiative and ÁMOS vision, prepared an engaging educational programme for primary school pupils, which was available on ÁMOS school touch panels throughout March. Thanks to ÁMOS, the educational spots and interactive quizzes reached 347 primary schools and 482 primary and secondary schools across the Czech Republic. We do not have the exact number of campaigns contacted, but we know, that over 400 pupils were directly involved in the competitions.

  • The Regional Dental Chamber prepared a spectacular event in the city of Ostrava in the multifunctional space of the Gong hall, which was intended for the general public, both children and adults. The program included a series of educational competitions, dental check-ups and lectures on how to properly care for the oral cavity.

  • The traditional Czech brand HERBADENT specializes in toothpastes and mouthwashes with effective extracts of 7 medicinal herbs and free of unnecessary chemicals also participated in World Oral Health Day very successfully. Stands with educational programs were all over the country and reached out to the general public.

  • Association of Students of Dentistry of the Czech Republic also took a very active part in World Oral Health Day. Educational events were held in Prague, Pilsen, Olomouc, Hradec Králové, Brno and Ostrava. The participants practically tried the technique of brushing their teeth, and each received a free toothbrush from Herbadent. This activity contributed significantly to the prevention of tooth decay and spreading awareness of the importance of oral health.
