1.     Oral health education for adults

This activity was handled by experienced Surgeons who would be able to answer peoples questions, the fact that it was in a very remote area the education was conducted in the local language commonly known as “Luganda” a language that is mostly used by people in Uganda,

  • Diabetes, Pregnancy and Hypertension in Oral Health.
  • Preventative measures to different conditions 

Day three: Butenga Health Centre iv 

  • Oral Cancer
  • How to brush
  • False Teeth
  • Functions of teeth
  • Dental Caries
  • Halitosis
  • Prevention of Oral diseases

Day four: Sembabule HC IV 

  • Oral cancer
  • Brushing techniques
  • Dental caries
  • Toothpaste usage
  • HTN, DM, Pregnancy and dental caries 

Day Five: Mweruka Junior School 

  • Functions of teeth
  • Ways of avoiding dental caries and other diseases
  • How and when to brush teeth
  • Causes of tooth decay
  • Different types of dental treatment
  • Preventative Orthodontic treatment in children    

3.     Oral screening and triage

Patients  who came for the dental camp were subjected to a comprehensive oral examination and diagnoses which  were made based on the findings from triage. Through triaging , we established that the most prevalent conditions were dental caries and periodontal diseases such as gingivitis. We also noted a significant number of cases of advanced periodontitis that required extensive treatment beyond what we were able to provide on that day and so we referred them however  those that we were able to handle we did.

Furthermore, some people  did not have any significant findings in their oral examination and these benefitted through a one on one dialogue with the Dental surgeon and advice on maintaining their current state of oral health moreover creating room on teaching other people on what they have been taught. 

Through the screening process we were able to collect and compute data of 3971 patients though we registered 3880 patients. Of the 3880 we organized the different patients according to the different procedures  as shown below;

With the sponsorship  of our sponsors Triokaa and Build Your Smile Dental foundation we were able to give medicines to the patients according to their treatments and recommendations by the Doctors  who worked on them. We had in stock several medicines which included mostly antibiotics and painkillers  of various types and formulations for both children and adults  suchas:Adrenalin,Lignocaine,Amoxyl,Ibuprofen,Paracetamol,Flagyl,

Dynapar tabs,Tess,T.dol p rapid,T.dol rapid

We are grateful because according to our sources many people in rural areas cant afford these medicines and so we were able to help so many.
