Smile for Refugees: A Happy Mouth is A Happy Mind!

The Refugee Crisis Foundation is initiating preventive and awareness campaigns to celebrate World Oral Health Day 2025 to promote oral health as a crucial component of overall well-being. Our initiatives will ensure that essential dental treatments and instruction are accessible to all, including marginalized communities, refugee communities, elderly individuals, and individuals with disabilities. 
We underscore the profound correlation between mental and oral health by providing complimentary dental check-ups, hygiene education, fluoride applications, and treatment services—as the saying goes, "A happy mouth is a happy mind!" We empower individuals to maintain a healthy visit and a healthy mind by increasing awareness and providing essential care, thereby contributing to a brighter future for our communities.

 

Activity1: Campaign in the learning centre of camp

On Monday 20/2/2025, 5 different learning centers with around 1000 students, within an age range of 6-15 years, will participate our WOHD25 campaign from the camp at coxsbazar, Bangladesh. Within the context of an awareness day, oral health awareness of the learning center students was increased by the following methods:
1. Posters of Toothie beaver were posted in the schools of five different camps at the world's largest refugee camp to announce the oral health awareness days

2. An oral presentation that talked about the importance of oral health, signs of a good oral health, methods for improving the oral health including tooth brushing,mouth rinsing, dietary instructions were proposed to decrease oral diseases, while stressing on the importance of a periodic dentist’s visit every 6 months as well as mention our dental clinic.

 3. We will provide activity tools and hold a drawing competition. After that, we will select three of the drawings for the prize. The gifts to enhance oral health include a toothbrush and toothpaste for each school student. The giveaway gifts(a colour pencil) will be distributed to the students after they listen to a simplified lecture about oral health awareness.
