As part of the World Oral Health Day campaign, the students of the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Chettinad Dental College and Research Institute, Kelambakkam, Chennai, organized an oral health awareness and screening program for the workers at Girias, Kelambakkam.The program aimed to promote awareness about the importance of oral hygiene and its impact on overall health. A comprehensive oral health screening was carried out for all participating workers to identify common dental problems such as dental caries, periodontal diseases, and other oral conditions.Following the screening, participants were educated on proper oral hygiene practices, including correct tooth brushing techniques, the use of interdental aids, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. Personalized advice was provided based on individual oral health needs.The session also emphasized the harmful effects of tobacco usage and unhealthy dietary habits on oral health. Interactive demonstrations and simple educational instructions ensured better understanding and engagement among the workers.The initiative successfully contributed to improving oral health awareness and encouraged the adoption of healthier habits among the participants.
