The Four-Month School Dental Outreach Campaign was conducted by PHC Kalapet with the aim of improving oral health awareness and ensuring early identification of dental problems among school children. The campaign was implemented across selected schools over a period of four months, with structured visits and follow-up activities.
A dedicated dental team carried out oral health screenings for students and provided basic preventive care, including fluoride application and guidance on maintaining oral hygiene. Interactive education sessions were organized to demonstrate proper brushing techniques, highlight the importance of a balanced diet, and discourage harmful habits such as tobacco use. Teachers and school authorities were actively involved to support and reinforce healthy practices among students.
The campaign witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and staff, leading to improved awareness and better oral hygiene practices. Children requiring further treatment were referred to nearby health facilities. The campaign concluded successfully, emphasizing the importance of sustained school-based dental outreach initiatives for long-term oral health improvement.
