NOHP Puducherry - Oral Health Awareness for the Municipality Workers

Campaign

NOHP Puducherry in association with World Oral Health Day Celebration conducted a dental awareness and tobacco awareness sesssion for municipal workers.

Municipal workers play a vital role in our community, and their health is essential for their well-being and productivity. It’s important for them to understand the significant link between oral health and overall health. The link between poor dental hygiene and its serious consequences like gum disease, tooth decay, and even its impact on heart health was elicited.

Additionally, tobacco use is a major contributor to oral health problems, including gum disease, tooth loss, and oral cancer. Smoking and chewing tobacco not only harm the mouth but also affect overall health by increasing the risk of heart disease, lung issues, and cancer. The workers were motivated to adopt good oral hygiene practices, quit tobacco, and seek regular dental check-ups.

Taking care of one’s teeth and quitting tobacco is an investment in long-term health and a happier, healthier workforce.
