The health department government of Puducherry organised a mega health mela where stalls on the different specialities of medicine and all the programs of the national health mission put up awareness stalls for the benefit of the community. The National oral Health program, Puducherry in collaboration with Mahatma Gandhi Post graduate Institute of Dental Sciences participated in this health mela and conducted awareness sessions, dental screening and treatments with the help of Mobile dental vans. This awareness and treatment camp was conducted for 3 days at Kamarajar mani mandabam a public exhibition venue in Puducherry.
Mega Health Mela was a great success in promoting dental health awareness on March 2 2025 . This was the 3rd day of the event. Educating the public on proper brushing techniques and providing hands-on demonstrations is an effective way to encourage better oral hygiene habits. The fact that 200 individuals underwent screening, with many receiving treatments like scaling and fillings, highlights the event’s impact on preventive care.
A total of 200 individuals underwent oral screening, with 18 Scaling and 31 Permanent fillings.
Such initiatives not only help in early detection of dental problems but also reinforce the importance of regular dental check-ups. Nearly 2500 individuals from various walks of life had benefitted through this health mela.
