Dental checkup for patients' living with epilepsy

Dental check-ups

The Ethiopian Dental Professionals Association, in partnership with CareEpilepsy Ethiopia, will condut a special oral health campaign for individuals living with epilepsy. This initiative, set to take place at Jan Meda Health Center, will provide free oral health education and dental check-ups for 40 patients in celebration of World Oral Health Day 2025.

The campaign will focus on addressing the unique oral health challenges faced by epilepsy patients, including poor oral hygiene, dental trauma, gingival overgrowth, and other related conditions. CareEpilepsy Ethiopia, a charitable organization dedicated to improving the lives of those affected by epilepsy, is collaborating with dental professionals to ensure that patients receive the care they need. Epilepsy remains a highly stigmatized and often neglected condition in Ethiopia, and this campaign aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and provide essential oral health services.

During the event, patients will be screened for oral health issues commonly associated with epilepsy, receive preventive education, and access necessary treatments. By addressing these challenges, we hope to improve the overall well-being of epilepsy patients and contribute to a better quality of life.

This campaign is a critical step in ensuring that epilepsy patients receive the care and attention they deserve. With your support, we can make a meaningful impact in the lives of these individuals and help reduce the burden of epilepsy in Ethiopia. Join us in celebrating World Oral Health Day 2025 by supporting this initiative at Jan Meda Health Center. Together, we can create a brighter future for epilepsy patients and their families.
