Creating Smiles in Pediatric Care – WOHD 2026 Kosovo

As part of World Oral Health Day 2026 in Kosovo, the University Dentistry Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKSUK) organized an outreach activity at the Pediatrics Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo, focusing on hospitalized children.

Dental professionals and students engaged directly with young patients through interactive demonstrations, using dental models and child-friendly educational materials to teach proper oral hygiene practices in an accessible and engaging way.

The activity created a supportive and positive environment, helping children feel comfortable while learning about oral health, even during hospitalization. Special attention was given to communication adapted to the age and emotional needs of the children.

In addition, oral hygiene products were distributed to encourage daily care and reinforce preventive habits among children and their families.

This initiative reflects a strong human-centered approach, bringing care, education and emotional support to vulnerable groups, while emphasizing the importance of oral health as part of overall well-being. It also demonstrates the commitment of dental professionals to community outreach beyond clinical settings.
