Bringing Smiles to Hospitalized Children – WOHD 2026 Kosovo

As part of World Oral Health Day 2026 in Kosovo, the University Dentistry Clinical Center of Kosovo (QKSUK) has extended its activities beyond clinical settings by organizing an outreach initiative at the Pediatrics Clinic of the University Clinical Center of Kosovo.

Dental professionals and students have visited hospitalized children, providing oral health education, emotional support and interactive demonstrations on proper oral hygiene practices.

Through the use of child-friendly educational tools and communication, the team has engaged young patients in a positive and supportive environment, helping them understand the importance of oral care even during hospitalization.

In addition, oral hygiene materials have been distributed to encourage daily care and promote preventive habits among children and their families.

This initiative has highlighted the human-centered approach of the campaign, bringing care, awareness and compassion directly to vulnerable groups, while reinforcing the importance of oral health as an integral part of overall well-being.

The activity has contributed to improving patient well-being, strengthening community outreach and demonstrating the social responsibility of dental institutions in promoting health beyond traditional clinical environments.
