Campaign
The students at the School of Dentistry in collaboration with The South African Dental Association will be celebrating WOHD by visiting surrounding communities. to offer oral health prevention and promotion.
Aim
The aim of the visits will be to enhance community engagement at the university and increase oral health access the vulnerable population.
The communities that will be visited and provided with educational material and dental kits are:
- Early childhood development centers
- Primary schools
- A school for the differently disabled
Furthermore there will be the following activities at the university
- Oral Health education and promotion at a tertiary academic hospital - Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University - School of Dentistry
- Presentation of dental kits at all sites visited
- Social media campaign
- Radio interviews and webinars
